The Deuel Family moved to York in 1956 from a farm in Riga. In 1975, Stanley, Louise and their son David incorporated the business naming it Awid Farm, Inc. (AlWays In Debt). The farm with 430 acres, 310 which are tillable, operated as a dairy farm with wheat, hay, and corn also being sold.
In 2005 the dairy animals were sold. The 310 acres now produce corn, soybeans and soft red wheat. Cecilia and David started a market garden enterprise in 2011. They produce organically grown berries, vegetables, mushrooms, and maple syrup. They sell their produce at a stand at the farm and the Geneseo Farmers Market.
